Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) Scholarship

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) Scholarship is a merit scholarship available to current George Mason students who have transferred from Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC) and who have shown significant academic achievement and community involvement at Mason.

OLLI will award one recipient this scholarship of $1000.00 applicable to the Fall 2024 semester.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a current Mason student who transferred from NVCC
  • Must have a Mason cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Must have earned at least 12 credits at Mason
  • Must be planning on registering at Mason in the Fall 2024 semester
  • Demonstrate a high level of involvement and engagement within the Mason Community
  • Apply by the listed due date below

Applicants should explain their extraordinary involvement in and impact on the Mason community in as much detail as possible. Please be specific about how your involvement has had an impact on the broader Mason community, above and beyond students’ normal level of engagement at Mason. Include details on when this engagement took place and why it is important. A large number of applications are received for the one scholarship, and the committee focuses the most on the level of involvement and impact on the Mason community after ensuring all of the minimum criteria are met.

Preference may be given to students with financial need as verified by Mason’s Financial Aid Office.

The winner will be selected by a committee of University employees who serve the transfer student community at Mason. This committee is chaired by Undergraduate Education, Office of the Provost, in partnership with OLLI.
