*The College of Education and Human Development [which includes the School of Recreation, Health, and Tourism (RHT)] invites all incoming transfer students to participate in pre-orientation advising. Preliminary steps to be completed by the student before attending a pre-orientation advising appointment can be found in the CEHD/RHT Transfer Student Onboarding organization in Blackboard – which all CEHD transfer students are automatically enrolled in once they have paid their deposits. *College of Humanities and Social Sciences
Transfer students that have paid their deposits to attend George Mason University with declared majors in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences will be able to meet with an academic advisor for their major at any of the summer orientation sessions. Summer advising appointments outside of orientation will be available on a case-by-case basis, per the availability of advisors in the student’s major. Students with any questions or concerns, especially those interested in taking coursework during the Summer Term at Mason, can contact Liz Kalinowski, Director of Advising for Undergraduate Programs in CHSS for additional information and a referral to an advisor.
*School of Business
Advising is available prior to Orientation for all new School of Business transfer students through Transfer Workshops. All students admitted to the School of Business will be sent an email invitation. Students who wish to be advised prior to Orientation should first submit the Intent to Enroll form to the Office of Admissions, then wait to receive email instructions on how to register for a School of Business Transfer Workshop.
*S-CAR Undergraduate Program
Transfer students majoring in Conflict Analysis and Resolution that have paid their deposits to attend George Mason University may obtain pre-orientation academic advising. Appointments are available between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Please contact the S-CAR Undergrad Office to set up an appointment.
*School of Policy, Government, and International Affairs
Newly admitted students seeking advising for our two majors: Government and International Politics, and Public Administration and Policy should contact Matt Green for further information or if they have any questions.
*School of Integrated Studies
Newly admitted transfer students majoring in School of Integrated Studies that have paid their deposits to attend George Mason University may obtain pre-orientation academic advising by calling 703-993-1436.
Newly Admitted Undeclared/No Preference students who have confirmed their offer of admission for the spring semester will be contacted by the Center for Academic Advising, Retention & Transitions and invited to schedule a pre-orientation advising appointment.
