Tau Sigma National Honor Society

What is the Tau Sigma National Honor Society?

It is a nationally recognized honor society for exceptional transfer students. The goal of the Mason Beta Nu Chapter is to support and motivate transfer students and to spotlight their excellence to the greater Mason community. We try to hold one club event each month. Previous events included: packing thanksgiving dinner bags for local families in need, writing thank you cards for service members and first responders, a fall mixer, and a de-stress event to connect with students both in Tau Sigma and other campus organizations.

Eligibility

To be eligible for membership, a student needs to be a transfer student, enrolled full-time, and have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5. The list of transfer students is reviewed each semester, and Mason students who fulfill these requirements will receive an email invitation from the national headquarters. Based on eligibility requirements, invitations are usually sent during a student’s second semester. Please note that once a student has received their invitation that will be their only chance to decide whether or not to join this organization. The official website of the Tau Sigma National Honor Society further explains the eligibility requirements in detail.
