What is Tau Sigma National Honor Society?
It is a nationally recognized honor society for exceptional transfer students. The goal of the Mason Beta Nu Chapter is to support and motivate transfer students and to spotlight their excellence to the greater Mason community. We try to hold one club event each month. This past semester, we held an event to pack thanksgiving dinner bags for local families in need and an event to write thank you cards for service members and first responders. We also held a fall mixer and De-stress event to connect with students both in Tau Sigma and other campus organizations.
To be eligible for membership, a student will need to be a transfer student, a full-time student and have a cumulative GPA of 3.5. The list of transfer students is reviewed once a year and Mason students who fulfill these requirements will receive an email invitation from the national headquarters sometime in March. These invitations are usually sent after students’ first or second semester depending on when they transferred. Please also note that once a student has received their invitation that will be their only chance to decide whether or not to join this organization. We have included the national website of Tau Sigma National Honor Society which further explains the eligibility requirements in detail: http://www.tausigmanhs.org/index.cfm/membership
