Success After Suspension Workshop

Success After Suspension Workshop image that says NEXT STEPS and of the Office of Academic Advising logoExploratory Academic Advising offers the Success After Suspension Workshop to current Exploratory students who are returning from suspension. Let us help you kick-start your first steps towards success after suspension! During this workshop our advisors will work with you on understanding where you are in the return process from suspension, lift your academic suspension holds, and help you register for courses.

The Exploratory advising team developed online modules intended to help students understand the Mason probation/suspension process and identify resources to achieve academic success.

The Success after Suspension Workshop includes modules covering:

  1. Understanding Academic Suspension
If you are returning from your first or second suspension, this workshop will offer valuable insights into the academic standing expectations at Mason upon your return.
  2. Improving your Academic Record
Engaging with an Exploratory Academic Advisor can broaden your understanding of avenues to enhance your academic records by offering recommendations for suitable appeal processes and course options.
  3. Adopting New Habits for Success
With the right habits, students can effectively reach their goals and maintain good academic standing. This workshop aims to introduce successful habits practiced by high-achieving students to aid in your academic success.

The Success After Suspension Workshop has been designed to be completed at your own pace and is an optional addition to our traditional one-on-one meetings for students planning to return from academic suspension. Eligible students will be emailed with information to register. For more details or questions, please contact Exploratory Academic Advisor, Asha Sneed, at [email protected] or by phone at 703-993-7206.
