Academic Advising Services

As a Non-Degree student enrolled in undergraduate courses at Mason, you can utilize our Exploratory Academic Advising services. Please see this page for more details and instructions on how to schedule an appointment.

If you are a Non-Degree student who is part of an international exchange program, contact the Global Education Office (GEO) at inbound@gmu.edu.

If you are a Graduate Non-Degree student, you can find advising links for graduate students on the home page.

Course Registration

For general registration information, see the Registration section of the Academic Planning and Registration page on the advising website.

From the Admissions website:

Please note that transfer credit is not evaluated for admitted non-degree students. If you are attempting to register for courses with prerequisites, please contact the department that coordinates the course for assistance.

For departmental contacts, you can use the Colleges and Schools section of the catalog.

The Costello College of Business has instructions to request enrollment in their courses as a Non-Degree student (see “Non-Degree Study”).

Pre-Professional Academic Advising Services

If you are interested in a career in a medical or health field (e.g. medical school, dentistry, optometry, physician assistant, pharmacy, etc.) or if you are interested in law school, please consider utilizing our advising services within those two specialized areas.
